A tour rich in views around the Metschstand. Highlights of the circular hike are the view of the impressive mountain panorama of the Wildstrubel and the Plaine Morte glacier as well as the view of the turquoise-blue Brenggen reservoir.
Even the ride on the ultra-modern 10-seater gondola lift from the valley floor to the Metschstand is like a panorama show with breathtaking mountain scenery. Crystal-clear air at the top at 2100 m above sea level, the Plaine Morte glacier in the direction of the Valais is almost at eye level. The approximately 80-minute round hike can be classified as easy and, above all, varied, despite the metres in altitude. Around the Metschstand, pleasure hikers have panoramic views and colourful meadows and pastures. Depending on the sunlight, the reservoir shines in Caribbean turquoise!
At the beginning, the trail leads away from the mountain station of the Stand-Xpress to the Bummerepass. Here you cross the municipal border between Lenk and Adelboden. On one side the view down into the Ammerte, on the other side the view over the Engstligental valley towards Adelboden. The trail passes the Blatti hut where you will also find a cosy bench with a sculpture of the famous Vogellisi.
The Caribbean-like reservoir in the Brenggenmäder then attracts all the attention. The view over the green upper Simmental has a special charm. It is then worth making a short detour to the Hahnenmoospass, where the mountain restaurant of the same name spoils its guests. On the way back, you pass the Brenggen reservoir before the trail makes a short loop over the Schattwy back towards Metsch. On the last section, the altitude metres of the descent are climbed again until the end point of the round tour is reached at the mountain station of the Stand-Xpress.
For those who like it fast, a mountain cart ride can be added afterwards: The safe and comfortable ride on the mountain cart rounds off the experience on the mountain wonderfully. Mountain cart route: Metschstand mountain station to Metsch middle station.
